Wintry showers to begin with, becoming drier and brighter for a time with some sunshine then clouding over again later with some heavy rain pushing in from the south-west later in the night. Winds north-westerly force 7 to Gale 8 easing force 4 then backing southerly force 6 later.
SUNDAY 21st DECEMBER
Wet and windy as a band of sometimes heavy rain crosses the area from the south-west. Becoming more showery later and colder again. Strong southerly winds veering south-westerly then westerly.
MONDAY 22nd DECEMBER
A chilly day with frequent showers, some wintry. Westerly winds remaining strong but starting to ease by morning.
